What is ET-Blu Mix® rolling code and why does it matter?
ET-Blu Mix® is ET Nice's proprietary enhanced rolling code encryption system. Every time you press your remote, a new encrypted code is transmitted — making it impossible for criminals to capture and replay your gate signal. It is widely regarded as the most secure residential gate encryption available in Africa.
What happens to my gate during a power failure (NEPA outage)?
All PX Automation products include genuine battery backup. Residential models (Drive 300–1000) provide 100 operations within the first 24 hours of power failure. Vehicle barriers (WIDE M) offer up to 650–1,300 operations depending on battery configuration. You can also add the Solemyo solar kit for a fully off-grid solution.
How long does a typical installation take?
A standard single residential gate installation (sliding or swing) takes between half a day and a full working day. More complex installations involving vehicle barriers, intercoms, access control keypads, and loop detectors may take 1–3 days. Your quotation will include an estimated project timeline.
Can I add a solar panel to run the gate completely off-grid?
Yes — the Solemyo 24V solar kit is compatible with most of our gate motors and can be added to any installation. It is ideal for remote properties, perimeter fences, and locations with unreliable NEPA supply. Ask for the Solemyo add-on when requesting your quote.
What is the difference between a sliding gate and swing gate operator?
Sliding gate operators move the gate horizontally along a rail — ideal when there is limited space in front of or behind the gate. Swing gate operators open the gate like a door, either inward or outward — best for properties with adequate driveway depth. Our team will advise on the best fit during your free site survey.
Is PX Automation a direct product of PX Property Hub?

What is the warranty on PX Automation products?
All gate motors and barrier systems carry the ET Nice manufacturer warranty. ET-Blu Mix® rolling code transmitters include a lifetime warranty (excluding battery, water or physical damage and general misuse, applicable to transmitters manufactured from January 2018). Our team will provide full warranty documentation on completion of every installation.
